Six-Month Professional Programme in Applied Software Engineering
Six months of live formation in applied software engineering — building production-ready applications with modern architecture, collaborative delivery, AI-assisted workflows, and deployment to production.

This is a six-month formation in applying engineering knowledge through structured practical work — understanding problems, designing solutions, building software, and taking responsibility for what is shipped.
The programme develops professional engineering capability through progressive practice: foundations before frameworks, integration before studio pressure, studio before independent capstone.
This is a software engineering programme for the AI era. Learners build and ship software using modern professional workflows, including responsible use of AI-assisted development.
Who This Programme Is For
No professional programming experience is required. Motivation, basic computer literacy, and willingness to invest sustained study time are essential. The programme is intensive and structured for adults prepared for professional responsibility.

What You Will Develop
Upon graduation, a Wells Tech Academy graduate should be able to contribute in product teams as a junior practitioner — with repositories, deployed applications, team delivery experience, and a capstone reviewed by faculty panel.

Development environments, programming fundamentals, version control discipline, and professional communication.

Component architecture, accessible interfaces, state management, and user-centred frontend delivery.
03 · Stage III
API design, relational data modelling, authentication, validation, and full-stack integration.
04 · Stage IV
Architecture discipline, CI/CD, cloud deployment, operational awareness, and responsible AI-assisted workflow.
05 · Stage V
Team-based product delivery under realistic constraints — shared codebase, iterative delivery, and stakeholder demonstration.
06 · Stage VI
Independent capstone, career preparation, Graduate Exhibition, and graduation panel review.
Applied Learning
The programme is delivered as a live cohort with synchronous instruction, supervised laboratories, code review workshops, studio sessions, and assessed milestones. Recordings may support catch-up where attendance policies permit; they do not replace participation.
Independent study is not unstructured homework. It is assigned project implementation, documentation, reading, deliberate practice, and reflection — completed to professional deadlines and submitted as evidence.
The programme allocates 360 guided learning hours across six months, with 240 hours of structured independent study and project work.
Portfolio & Evidence
Recognition requires evidence: reviewed code, deployed applications, documented decisions, collaborative contribution, and assessed presentation. Completion is verified through demonstrated capability, not attendance alone.
Foundations checkpoint work, frontend and backend milestone projects, and production-oriented delivery with operational documentation.
An institutional delivery environment where learners work in teams on product-shaped software under faculty governance and professional engineering standards.
A substantial full-stack application with authentication, persistence, deployment, tests on critical paths, and a written case study.
The institution's culminating presentation of graduate evidence — capstone work, studio contributions, and professional narrative before faculty, peers, and invited guests.
Learning Experience
Faculty and assigned mentors provide feedback, code review, milestone assessment, and professional guidance throughout delivery. Mentorship during the programme is instructional and formative. Continued mentorship after graduation is transitional and developmental.
In-person, live online, and hybrid delivery follow the same curriculum, the same assessments, and the same graduation standard. Delivery mode affects logistics, not rigour.

Assessment is continuous, evidence-based, and demonstration-heavy. Learners are reviewed through project work, code review, portfolio evidence, and a capstone panel — a standard earned through demonstrated work rather than a single examination.
Capstone
The programme culminates in independent capstone work, Graduate Exhibition, and faculty confirmation of graduation readiness — a public demonstration of the capability the learner has developed.

Career preparation at Wells is designed to help learners think beyond the classroom. Alongside their technical and professional development, learners are encouraged to understand the wider technology landscape, communicate their developing capabilities with confidence, and present themselves thoughtfully as emerging professionals.
The goal is to help learners leave the programme better prepared to continue building, learning, pursuing opportunities, and taking the next steps in their professional journey.
Graduates receive twelve months of continued mentorship after graduation, supporting the transition from formation into professional practice.

One curriculum. One graduation standard. You can study in person, live online, or through hybrid delivery. Working professionals often select hybrid delivery — combining campus intensives with live online sessions.
Published programme tuition. Payment plans may be available for eligible applicants — discussed during admissions review, not as a condition of learning the fee.
